Marketers: To SEO, or Not to SEO

SEO software providers have promised that their solutions let you analyze keywords, increase ranking and calculate search ROI. But is SEO as relevant as it was 5 years ago?

I’ve been told that for years, Keyword Meta tags have been such a huge source of spam and sketchy SEO practices that Google has decided not to even look at them when doing their page ranking algorithms.

Google’s main factors in page ranking come from simply writing relevant, fresh content, using good page title and descriptions, and having as many high quality (well ranked) sites linking to yours as possible.

Here are a couple of things to consider…

  • How do you know what keywords will drive the right audience for you?
  • What other websites fit your companies brand personality and will help drive the right traffic to your site?
  • Is the content on your website relevant to your products and solutions? Are you telling your product story in the most effective way possible?
